A string quartet will perform enchanting melodies that evoke eerie tales and fantastical creatures. Dark costumes, mystical music, and a hushed atmosphere promise an immersive experience where every note seems to summon spirits of the past. Halloween at the Musée des Ursulines in Trois-Rivières is that time of year when creatures of the night come out of the shadows to party! On the weekend of October 25 and 26, 2025, dare to join them during “La fête des monstres” (details available in French only), a fiesta where monsters of all kinds celebrate and challenge their guests to wacky games. Throughout the activity, keep an eye out for hidden monsters — you might win a bag of candy if you spot them all! Rumor has it that ghosts have taken up residence in the rooms of Montréal’s Château Dufresne… While most are friendly, a mischievous spirit enjoys giving visitors a little scare. Running Wednesday to Sunday until November 2, 2025, the Ghosts of the Castle seek-and-find activity invites young detectives to be curious and courageous as they seek out the ghosts! Along the way, thrills and laughter are sure to mix, and a sweet treat awaits children at the end of their investigation. A creative workshop called My Caring Ghost also takes place on Saturdays and Sundays!
For Halloween in Québec City, don’t miss the Strange Carnival, a mysterious fair taking place from October 24 to 26, 2025, in Old Québec. As part of the festivities, the Pôle culturel du Monastère des Ursulines will host an organ recital at dusk (details available in French only). Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, organist Daniel Laplante will perform classical pieces inspired by dusk, including Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, in the Ursuline Chapel.
